"Extra airtime" HIGHLY misleading

I am very unhappy about the way in which Vodacom markets "Extra airtime". I purchased R110 airtime and was then informed that I have R110 extra airtime for the day. I opted to buy some monthly data (which was my initial plan) as well 1GB for the day, as I had nothing to lose given the additional airtime available for the day. Upon completion of these purchases, I received an SMS saying my balance was R18 and my extra airtime balance was still about R110!? How is this even possible?

It seems as if these purchases were deducted from my airtime balance and NOT my "extra airtime". So Vodacom, what is the point of "extra airtime anyway", if you just deduct all purchases from the initial recharge?

I request a full refund for this, as it is really unacceptable.

 Good day

We are sorry to hear of the circumstances under which your posting has reached us and we do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

As per the promotion terms and conditions, the bonus airtime can only be used for usage and not for purchasing data bundles. Kindly refer to the terms and conditions, https://myvodacom.secure.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/recharge-and-get.

Okay, so to clarify - I should just go on as usual and any data I use will be automatically deducted from the extra airtime, until it is depleted?
