To whom it may concern
I was speaking with someone who made mention that we were exploited during my term of service at Vodacom.
I started in the EBU call center and 5 of us were picked to begin a pilot project in 2012. I was an employed at Vodacom through call force and myself and 4 other people started the Telephone Account management Desk for SME businesses. It was 3 contract people and 2 permanents. As part of the job description we were expected to grow the revenue through upgrades, adding new lines and cross selling but we did not get commission for the growing base. Where did all the recognition go too? The department grew and people were recruited. We were still on call center rates. People who were recruited were earning market related salaries and how I found out was because they complained that the money was too little. It was only after two years that our salary was in par with the salary scale of what we were doing and in 2015 that commission was introduced. My question is what happened to the money that was being made before then and how come we were not acknowledged accordingly because I know as a technology company you are able to pull rep codes and verify what was made according to my fellow contract colleagues. We were exploited because we did not report directly to Vodacom. We had rep codes on OTL but never saw a cent of the money that we grew. Vodacom knows very well how to cover their tracks and it is sad that I’m only to know of this information. It is even worse because Vodacom does not know you because you have been outsourced and you are not their problem.
