Existing Vodacom Customer Denied Upgrade – Makes No Sense
I am extremely disappointed in Vodacom’s upgrade process and the complete lack of logic behind it.
I am a long-standing Vodacom customer and I pay a substantial amount every month on my Vodacom account. I currently have two existing lines that are both eligible for upgrades. These are not new lines, not additional contracts, and not an attempt to increase my exposure.
Despite this, I am being told that I cannot upgrade either line because I am on debt review.
This makes absolutely no logical sense.
I am already paying for these contracts every single month, without fail. An upgrade does not create a new line, it simply replaces a handset on an existing agreement that I am actively servicing. If I was trying to open a new line, I could understand a credit restriction — but this is not the case.
To punish loyal, paying customers by blocking upgrades on existing lines feels unfair, unreasonable, and disconnected from reality. I am effectively being told that although Vodacom is happy to take my money every month, I am not considered good enough to upgrade hardware on lines I already have.
This experience has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed. I expect Vodacom to review this policy and provide a proper explanation, because right now this process feels arbitrary and customer-hostile.
I would appreciate this matter being escalated and reviewed urgently.
