I am an client of Vodacom for the past 20 years and for 19 of them a happy one, untill: I have an existing contract/sim card since Jan '15 which I use for data only. When the contract was purchased I requested that a cap had to be placed on this contract as I do not want any extra charges. If the data is depleted I will buy data at the local shop. All was fine until June when I received a R5 000 data account. Vodacom credited me with roughly 50% of the bill, but I still had to pay the rest. The following month again I received a hefty data bill. I have made numerous calls to the call centre regarding the account, to cap the account and try to get an explanation of why my account was not caped in the first place. Every time I speak to a consultant to request the contract to be caped they say that it is not caped but they will cap it, next phone call will be the same story.

Why is Vodacom spending my hard earned money? I asked for a fixed cost ever month, no surprises, what I get is excessive bills for data used.

This is an unacceptable practise by a company that is the leading data provider in the country and I now know why.
