Ended contract to be cancelled (Deceased) ***

My contract with cell number: *** was on my husband's name after he passed away. I tried to cancel the contract, because it finished on 23th of May 2019. On numerous occasions I went in to Vodacom Shop in Greenacres, The Bridge, in Port Elizabeth to cancel my contract. They informed me that I need to mail the following documentation - my husband's ID, his death certificate, my ID and the executor's letter - to their Legal department, which i did. On 22 of May 2019 I send all the requested documentation to Vodacom's legal department. The email address they provided was ***. The email was delivered, but nobody responded. On 12 June 2019 I was told to send the documentation again after I visited the store to enquire what was the hold up. Again there was no response. My daughter then tried and send all the documentation from her email address on 5 July 2019 and till this date she also did not receive any feedback.

This behaviour is unacceptable. In no way can somebody in the store help me to finalise the end of the contract. All they can do is refer us to the legal department (deceased). The consultant in the store were very helpful and tried to cancel everything by sending all the documentation as well. This also lead to no reply.

I am at the point of returning the phone, which is rightfully mine, because we have completed the terms of the contract. Every month Vodacom just load new airtime and I feel obligated to pay, because I did receive the airtime. But at the same time I don't want it. Now please end this contract and make the number prepaid, since that is what I asked in the first place.

Regards Denise Scott ***
