End of contract CON

I happened to call the Vodacom call centre to ask a question about what I owed on my account, only to find that in one of my previous calls with Vodacom (when a call centre agent had called me to say I was due for an upgrade), I had been duped into "signing" another 2 year contract! I had told the call centre agent that I did not want to have an upgrade as I did not want to incur any further expenses and that I was trying to keep my costs down. She said my costs would be reduced as I am not getting a new device but she did not mention anything about signing me up for another 2 YEAR CONTRACT!!. I thus am locked into a 2 year contract without a device! I feel this is extremely dishonest and unfair. I recently found out about a Telkom deal that sounded good and called Vodacom to find out about moving what I thought was my month-to month contract to Telkom. When I called the cancellations dept to find out about switching to Telkom, I was told that if I leave Vodacom I will owe them around R13 000 in premature cancellation fees! I find this absolutely ridiculous and a totally ********** and disgusting way to dupe customers. I am letting all customers know about this shocking and ******* manner of sales at Vodacom. It is ********** and *********. When I called the cancellations department I said I was very unhappy about this and asked that a supervisor please contact me asap to discuss. The call centre agent said his supervisor would get back to me but it has now been about 3 weeks and no one has called. I am extremely dissatisfied with Vodacom and their ********** sales team and their shockingly bad service. Whenever I relay this story to a friend or family member, they are shocked that such a thing could happen, that Vodacom as a company could be so ********* and underhanded. And then not even try to correct things when they are called out on it – despicable! I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for years, but I will never use their "service" again!

SURPRISE SURPRISE - NO ONE FROM VODACOM HAS BOTHERED TO MAKE CONTACT WITH ME!!! CLEARLY THEY DON'T TAKE THEIR CUSTOMER'S SATISFACTION (OR LACK THEREOF) SERIOUSLY!!! VODACOM IS CLEARLY A COPMPANY THAT DOES NOT CARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AS THIS POST HAS PROVEN.
