Empty promises and wasted time

I signed up for the Black Friday 800 Gig data deal in store on Saturday the 6th of November 2021. The sales consultant assured me that the transaction was complete and I would receive my router, sim and television soon. I phoned and asked for updates twice a week for two weeks, every time to be reassured that I would receive my router, sim and television and that there was no need to worry. Today, on 22nd, they finally get back to me, saying that the deal is discontinued and I won't be getting anything at all.

This is pathetic service, no delivery at all and a massive waste of my time that also prevented me from making other plans for my home internet that i require for my work. I had been a customer of Vodacom for more than a decade but now I will most definitely take my business elsewhere.

It is with the cooperation and feedback from valued clients such as yourself that we are able to identify any areas of improvement within our organisation. Kindly be advised that the query was escalated to the store Management Team and based on the feedback received the deal was a limited offer and while stocks last.

Then there was no need to lie to me for two weeks, string me along and waste my time. If you order a special at a restaurant and the waiter accepts your order, it is simply unacceptable that he comes back days later and says "Oh that was a limited time offer and now you get nothing". Family of mine still got the same deal later that day at a different store, I easily could've done the same if I was simply informed. This is an insulting violation of the Consumer Protection Act and you should be ashamed of your dishonesty.
