Empty promises

Guess what? Vodacom is at it again!

Summary: I opened a contract with Vodacom in December 2018. Was promised free caller line identity. Vodacom decided no, it won’t be free. I lodged a complaint on Hello Peter. A Vodacom consultant phoned me and informed me that it would indeed be free and I would not be charged. I was not charged when they deducted the money from my account.

I received the January 2019 invoice yesterday by email. Sure enough, there is the charge for caller line id. Not only are they now charging me again, they have also included December’s charge.

So, twice you promised me something for free. Not exactly a man of your word. Fantastic business ethics you have.

This is not the first time you ***** from me, is it Vodacom? In October last year you overcharged me R1.76 on the vat portion of my data contract. When I complained, you told me some “nonsense” about the contract portion being incorrectly calculated. No, the fault was with the vat.

You did credit me R1.53 eventually. So, you were desperate for 23 cents were you? That 23 cents is my money, not yours – this makes you a *****.

You have a very good product but you are *****ing it up. The only reason I’m with you is your product works the best for me in my area. Your competitors cannot or will not offer better. I will never recommend you to anybody. You have a good product but you are not such a good organisation. The day your competitors offer a better product I will dump you in a heart beat.

The consultant who called me after I lodged a complaint on Hello Peter to tell me I would not be charged for caller line id did help me set up both cell numbers on the phone app and website. So, you do have some employees who are very helpful. Unfortunately it’s the bad ones who are throwing your name away.

Oh, you also gave me another 10 gig promo data in January. Isn’t this a once-off when one opens a contract? Or are you giving me this in the hope that I shut up and go away? You do realise that more than likely I’ll forfeit 90% of it?
