Empty Promises

I received a call from Elite Mobile who claimed to be an affiliate of Vodacom. Their representative Pelelane tried selling me a contract deal which I did not want to listen to and stated that I'm no interested.

Instead I kept being asked questions about what I am currently paying and what devices I have. I reiterated that I am not interested yet he mentioned that he could guarantee he would beat any current deal I have if I give him the information on my deal.

So I confirmed that statement with him and provided him with my deal. I have a sim card only deal with MTN which gives me 50GB data, 10 000 MTN to MTN Mins and 200 mins to any network for R149 per month.

He continued to try pushing the deal he originally called me for and was insistent it would beat my deal. I got frustrated and cut the line.

It is ********* to cold call firstly and secondly to guarantee a consumer that you will beat his current deal and then continue your sales pitch is the limit.

I don't normally take these calls but Vodacom chooses to affiliate with these parties and this is what it results in... Empty promises and commitments.

I am a previous Vodacom contract subscriber and now on prepaid. With situations like this really makes you wonder whether you want to use the services of the network!
