Emails do not send using smtp.vodacom.co.za

Please see below:

28 May 2021, 20:59 Vodacom outgoing emails will not send I cannot send emails from my phone because although it is recommended I do not ask for authentication, I am asked for authentication, which does not work. I have used my email username and my cell number, and various passwords, but am having no luck. I have spoken to 4 Vodacom consultants. One said there was an issue with emails, but this had been sorted. One said it is Webmail's problem (webmail provides an incoming email service. The service provider, in this case Vodacom, sorts out the outgoing emails). One said vodacom was stopping their smtp service and I would have to find another way to send emails from my phone. One said I should download a different email app. But I use Vodacom data and need to send emails. Is there no-one who can help me to do this? I have not been able to send emails (except when I use wifi and use Telkom's smtp server) for 3 weeks now. Please help!!! BTW. This appears to a problem that has been popping up in various forms since 2009, if you use google to try and find a solution.

My emails have been unable to send using smtp.vodacom.co.za for three weeks now, and I hearing of other people who struggle with the same issue. Thanks

Thank you.
I received the following reply: Dear customer, to enhance security for Vodamail users, anonymous authentication was disabled for sending email using the Vodamail smtp (smtp.vodamail.co.za). If you are using a Vodamail email address please ensure that the smtp authentication is set on outgoing to use the same username and password as incoming. Alternatively if you are using a non vodamail email address please obtain an smtp from your email provider that allows authentication. Regards Vodacom CIC Team

Does this mean I can no longer use an smtp from vodacom, or can you perhaps provide me with an authentication? If I have to pay R25 a month for this service, I am happy to do so. I have requested an smtp from Webmail, but they are not replying to my queries as they do not bother with outgoing mail.

Please respond

Thanks
BS

Yes.
I recieved this response, and I asked if there is any way I can pay a fee monthly in order to obtain an authentication code, but it seems that it is easier for you to send an automatic reply than to actually read what I have written.
Please note, as per the above, this is not a problem unique to me as per https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/vodacom-smtp-outgoing-mail-server-help.**********/
In addition, it seems ridiculous that I own a smartphone, which was provided by Vodacom. but I am unable to utilise one of the most basic functions of that Smartphone.
Come one Vodacom. I am sure you can do better!!!!!!!!!
I do not want to change my email provider, but they insist they are an incoming email provider. This means that I am reliant on Vodacom to SEND emails.
There must be a way to obtain an authentication code. Please help me to do so.
