Elite mobile misrepresentation and ********* behaviour

I would like to formally raise a complaint regarding a recent experience involving a third-party service provider, Elite Mobile, who contacted me claiming to act on behalf of Vodacom.

During the call, I was offered an upgrade on two of my existing Vodacom contracts, along with a R50 reduction in monthly payments for each. The representative stated that this offer was extended to me as a loyal Vodacom customer. However, upon receiving the migration quotes, I discovered that the payments on both contracts had in fact increased substantially.

Although I was eventually able to revert to my previous packages, I find it unacceptable that such misleading and deceptive sales practices are being conducted by a company acting under the authority of Vodacom. I have no direct relationship with Elite Mobile and would never have engaged with them had they not been given access to my personal information, presumably by Vodacom.

I expect Vodacom to take accountability for this issue. As your customer, I believe it is your responsibility to ensure that any third party acting on your behalf upholds the same ethical and professional standards. This incident has caused unnecessary frustration and wasted considerable time.

I request a formal investigation into this matter and a clear explanation as to how my information was shared with Elite Mobile. Furthermore, I would appreciate confirmation of the steps Vodacom will take to prevent such incidents in the future.

Dear Vodacom

Thank you for the prompt response. Please note this was not a phishing ****, but an ********* action but a Vodacom division
