Early debit order issue!
I ported over to Vodacom in 2023. I asked that my debit order should go off on the last day of the month, as I get paid on the last day of the month. Vodacom decides to debit my account on the 28th of June 2024, two days before my scheduled debit date.
There were no funds in my account. My bank then charges me R200 for this "no funds". Vodacom's customer care tells me they do not debit over weekends, as the last day of the month fell on a Sunday. Sorry, but how is this my problem?
When I signed up for the contract, I knew there will be money in my account on the last day of the month, hence why I selected the last day of the month. If Vodacom decides to debit earlier, this is not my problem. But now I'm short R200 because of Vodacom. I want Vodacom to re-imburse me my R200. In this tough economic environment, who has R200 to throw away in the drain???!!!

So Vodacom is happy to put people out of pocket with early debit orders? If I tell a company that my debit order needs to go off on the last day of the month, I expect it to stay that way. Not change. Because I know when funds will be available for the debit orders. Not the company. Not everyone has money in their account on the 28th of a month. I am not satisfied with this result. Vodacom is the first company to take money off my account. Not eveb my bank takes their bond payments so quickly.

I get paid ONCE a month on the last day. Since I got paid in June 2024, I paid Vodacom a handsome amount of R903.30 AND the lost R200 that my bank charged me for insufficient funds for a grand total of R1103.30!!! This was their private reply to me earlier:
