Duped into renewing a contract
Last year when one of the numbers I had with Vodacom came up for renewal my original intention was to let it go over to prepaid. When my daughter was going to go to the USA we were advised to renew the contract because then we don't have to worry about making sure to keep some type of activity going on the number for the 2 yrs she will be away, plus we were duped into paying extra in for a replacement phone because we were told it would work in Illinois, USA. JA should have followed my gut feeling but what is a mother to do when her daughter is about to travel out of country and needed to have that assurance she would just be a phone call away. 7 months later, and despite me telling the call center agents countless times, after they have synchronized the number, refreshed the phone and asked me to get her to manually select a network where she is, the situation has remained the same. Phone has VERY, and let me repeat, VERY limited connection as in a bar maybe. She moves one millimeter and its disconnected and there is not even radio signal. So now I am stuck with a Top up 200 contract till 26 Aug 2019, paying R308.50 a month for no service, connection or even an ability to transfer the airtime that keeps adding up (currently sitting at R653- Jan 2018) to any of my other numbers because "its for that line only". I would think since I am paying the dam bill every month the "Airtime" should be mine to use, or am I misunderstanding what "Paying for a service" means? Nonetheless I will not be renewing any of the contracts I have with Vodacom as and when they get close to the expiry date. THANKS Vodacom, after 10 years of being a loyal paying customer (1st contract taken out in June 2006 with my current main number) you have finally lowered your service standards to such an extent that I cannot continue supporting your organisation. Sad to say it has taken me 10 years to realize that Vodacom is not interested in a loyal customer like me. Good luck with all your other customers and hope that they continue paying their accounts without fail like I did, otherwise see you all in the unemployment line.
