Dual assignment of data number - no resolution after 24 days. Cancelling service now.
Pathetic service and knowledge from Vodacom for a new data contract.
Invoice K ********** dated 19 June Refers for the new data contract 30 Gigs on mobile number 066 264 with a R128 router.
I called Vodacom activations and customer care from my mobile number from 20 June 2018 onwards to get this contract active. They have recorded calls for Africa ... both from me and to me. Still no data available to me as at 12 July 2018, I have spent at least the equivalent of 5 working days on sorting this matter out from my side all to no avail. I work on commission, and this has DIRECTLY impacted on my earning ability.
I have now confirmed the following via a very helpful lady (Mary Gardner - an employee at Voda Chatz at the New Redruth Mall in Alberton). The ONLY person with intelligence in this matter. Mary established the following facts for me. I am now tired of talking and hoping that the CEO of Vodacom will react OR they can accept this complaint as the cancellation of this contract. I know it is past the 7 days, but after 24 continuous days since invoice issue, this matter remains unresolved.
1. That as at 12 June 2018, that this data number ( ********** ) is jointly assigned to another individual namely Chenepe Thage (Profile Number 1+ ********** ********** ). 2. That the same data sim card ( ********** ) has shown as an error and will not allow me to connect to data supposedly available. This is after Activation requests, snychronisation requests etc. 3. That Vodacom instead of loading 30 Gigs to this data number, have instead loaded a U Choose Flexi 120 air time contract to this number belonging to the person as stated in point 1 above. 4. Then to add insult to injury, whenever beyond a certain point the FREE Vodacom Customer care number ceased to be free after all the extreme comedy of errors, that now means I must dial an alternative number on ********** at MY expense. As if I have not lost enough time, petrol, extreme frustration, data services for business (read commission). But the Vodacom staff could not give a damn, because they all get salaries. 5. This problem has been compounded, because in my extreme frustration in going back and forth to a Vodacom service store (read petrol, time, waiting for the technician to help me with other people in the queue in front of me at least 5 times) with the Wi-FI Router and sim inside, that the Router fell out of my pocket whilst rushing to see a client after wasting my time (which would not have happened had the variety of staff at Vodacom actually DONE their freaking jobs, the Wi-Fi router would have ordinarily been transported in my computer bag and not my pocket!!!)
So when I tried to do a SIM swap to sort out the problem of loss of the Wi-Fi Router (I have a spare Wi-Fi Router), Mary Gardner at Voda Chatz told me that she cannot do a SIM swap because that SIM was a) assigned to me and the person mentioned in point 1 above and b) if she did do a SIM swap (R63,00) that the other person would get free data of 30 Gigs on her Huawai phone.
So here, I am, no 30 Gig data contract (the other 10 Gig data contract I got was for my son, not me. To the credit of Vodacom, they did give me extra data on my main mobile number when I pointed out that nobody bothered to address my frustration and extreme inconvenience and cost.
And granted, yes, I became rude on 6 July with my call to ********** 004 (18 days after invoice date) when I was then told that the problem was not activation (done) but synchronisation of the data number). And yes, after 18 days of disgusting service, I lost my saintly ability to be cool!!! Don't judge me for that.
Freak, Vodacom, DO YOU WANT TO GET BAD REVIEWS? At this point, no one had mentioned the dual assigning of this data number..... do your people actually have brains?
So, by me misplacing the Router and Sim, and requesting a SIM swap ONE single intelligent person at a store catches the rest of the Vodacom staff out.
Disgusting. Let me see what happens now.
Yours faithfully, Theresa Hattingh
