Dropped calls free minutes ****

Both my wife and I have now had the same experience with this **** by Vodacom, where they promise you one thing, and then don't follow through...

At just after 09h00 on a Saturday morning (mine on 21 Jan, my wife's 25 Feb) we got an SMS from Vodacom stating that to make up for dropped calls, we would have 10 free Vodacom-to-Vodacom call minutes "until tomorrow 23:59:59" - so based on the receipt of the message and no other information (other than "T&C's apply" with no link), that meant until Sunday midnight. My wife checked her account balance, and sure enough, there were 10 free minutes on the balane request.

I made three calls, totalling 2m05s (so 4 minutes in per-minute billing) on Saturday 21st, and a further 4 calls on Sunday 22nd. I was not charged for the Saturday calls, but I was charged fully for all the Sunday calls - no free minutes seemed to apply on Sunday.

My wife was about to make a call or two on Sunday 26th Feb, and after I warned her about my experience, checked her balance again - free minutes had gone. She called the Vodacom call centre to find out what was going on, got nowhere with the agent, and then the call was cut off (!!!)

So - nowhere in the T&C's is there anything specific about when minutes are allocated from, other than "This bundle will be valid from the time of allocation until 23:59:59 of the following day." With no specifics, this allows Vodacom to manipulate this "compensation" as they wish, as they clearly seem to be doing.

Misleading information and *****ed execution - definition of a ****.

Kudos to Vodacom - a call, and investigation and validation of my story, and some more compensation, with a commitment to escalate the systemic issues - let's see how this works out. It's just a pity that it takes a public post to get what we would expect from the service provider - dealing with the company directly never returns these results! From 1 to 3 stars for now.
