I had a 24 month contract phone with Vodacom 2014 to 2016. Which I settled and ended in January 2017. Vodacom continued sending me invoices & debiting me which an explanation that I need to manually i.e call them and terminate the contract even after the 24 months have lapsed because they continue to give me 200MB data on a monthly basis (which to me is a ****) because 200MB is equivalent to sending 1 WhatsApp file (useless) thus I’m not even certain they were giving me and data & I don’t need 200MB I got fiber from a reasonable service provider. Then I asked the consultant to terminate the contract - I was advised it would be effective 1 March 2017. Now I lost my phone (which was not a Vodacom device) and have managed to replace it with a new phone today and Vodacom is telling me I owe them money because this line is a contract line & I can’t make a sim swap. I’m being transferred to their legal department that’s telling me the don’t have information on the account as it’s sitting with a legal 3rd party entity . Can Vodacom please explain to me if all of this makes sense and just give me my 082 number as I have paid for it and deserve to be connected to my friends and family right now.
