Double Handset Charges

To Whom It May Concern,

I am totally disgusted in Vodacom yet again.

I recently upgraded my contract as I received msgs telling me that I am eligible for upgrade. I specially took a smaller package than before to minimize my costs as my budget is very limited.

Last month I noticed that the debit order taken off my account was very high but I accepted it thinking it might be charges for sim swop etc.

This month I decided to find out why.

I AM BEING CHARGED FOR TWO HANDSETS!

The second customer service consultant I spoke to has now informed me that I have to pay my old handset until the end of the 24 month period regardless of when I upgrade.

I have been a customer of Vodacom for 10+ years and have never had this before!!!! Not only do I find it absolutely ridiculous practice but what is worse nobody bothered to make me aware of this fact. Had I known this I would have waited to the end of my contract as I do not have the money to pay for 2 handsets.

Two years ago with my last upgrade I also had such issues with Vodacom that I almost switched to another provider also due to not all the information being disclosed to me getting me caught into a contract I couldn’t really afford, why cant you be upfront with your clients and give us all the information?

I am not happy to pay R200 a month for the previous handset seeing as I was not told about this.

Please advise how you plan to make this right!

My Contract number is ********** however i am only reachable on ********** during the day
