I changed jobs recently and my salary date changed from the 25th of each month to the 1st of each month.
Having slipped my mind that my debit for Vodacom was set for the 28th, my debit unfortunately bounced and I was penalised with a R100 fee. I accepted my fault and went to a Money Market pay point where I paid in full. I then contacted Vodacom to change my debit date. The earliest date I was told I could choose was the 8th which I agreed to.
The next month however I paid at the same Money Market outlet on the 2nd, before my debit order schedule. I was then debited again and charged once again a R100 penalty.
I contacted the accounts department who said I could set my debit date to any date that suited me and was told that I must just pay.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the supervisor was in a meeting and would contact me back, which has not happened.
This month however, I've been debited multiple times to the point that my bank account is now in arrears.
This is unacceptable!
Best regards,
