Don't want to Upgrade, cancel the debit

My contract expired last year already. Trying to cancel since December 2020. Every month since then I am still being billed. After calling every month since December and I spoke to consultants whereby it was stated to me that the call is recorded and the only message I got was that " if you phone in it doesn't mean that your contract is stopped, you will receive notification if it is approved". I went to the Vodacom shop New Market last week, where I was told that the 2 Top up contracts that also expired needs to upgrade and so do I. She also did not want to give me a Reference number, she said it will be sent to me via sms. Till today I have not received it. I do not want to upgrade and the two Top up also do not want to upgrade. The one Top up number the phone got ****** and the number is not in use, already have a pay as you go. Why do I need to upgrade if my contract expired and I DON'T want to upgrade. Please just stop the debit every month. I have the right to refuse an upgrade. I cannot be forced to take something I don't want. I cannot afford it, I don't want it.
