Dont die with a Vodacom Contract on your name
My Father in law passed away about 4 months ago, since then I have been trying to get his Vodacom account sorted out. I can tell you, dealing with Vodacom is worse than having to deal with death. I have emailed Legal the required documents, they just don't get them, I have sent it 5 times already. Then they cut the account off, saying its pending because he died, but oddly enough they don't get my documents? Eventually I managed to get someone that looked and ahhhh they found it, yes its here.. now what... She promised to call me back in 30 minutes, 3 days later I call again, no, I need to go to a store. I go to a store, no, they can't help me, I need to contact legal... well news flash, legal don't take calls and they don't reply to emails...
I called customer centre again, they put me from pillar to post, I was on the line for over an hour, then they cut me off, to top it I was then asked to rate the service... 0 is very unhappy, why don't they have a -10, it seems more appropriate.
Vodacom, you guys really suck, this must rate as the worst customer experience I have ever had, Its been 4 months of back and forth and there is seemingly nothing I can do, I can't use the phone because its been suspended, even though its fully paid up and had about 700 rands airtime on it.
I understand the POPPI act but really, there needs to be a exception made when the account owner has died. Maybe Vodacom need to bring out a new package, one that lets you call the after life so you can speak to the deceased person and get confirmation so you can change the details.
Its is just so so bad...what a waste of my time and money since I need to call from a different provider to their useless legal department...
