Don't bother trying to get Vodacom Black Friday deals

I ordered an online Black Friday special for home internet from Vodacom last year November. Vodacom online upgrades phoned me on 4 December 2025 to confirm the order, go through all the Ts and Cs, confirm the delivery address with me and sent me a quote on email that was generated for the upgrade.

I was planning to go away in December and specifically provided Vodacom with my work address in case I am not here to collect the new router. I always deliver packages to my work address and have even previously received deliveries from Vodacom there while I’m not there so I did not think this would be a problem.

We left before I received the new router and I thought the delivery would happen while I’m away. When I returned to work at the beginning of January there was still no delivery from Vodacom. I phoned Vodacom on to follow up on when the delivery will be done.

They casually informed me that the order was cancelled citing that the courier company tried multiple times to deliver but was unsuccessful. I never received any phone calls or emails from either the couriers or Vodacom to state that they cannot deliver or that they will/did cancelled my order.

I asked all the employees and managers if there were any couriers looking for me to deliver a package to me or any other deliveries. They all confirmed that there were no couriers that were asking for me, but that there were a few other courier deliveries which they received.

I asked Vodacom to place the order for me again to which they rep**** that the deals were no longer available because it was for Black Friday only. I said that was not acceptable and they should escalate the matter to someone that can provide me with the same package that I initially ordered as I was not the one that cancelled the order and they didn’t inform me regarding the matter. The consultant said that they sent an email to escalate the matter and they will get back to me with feedback. I also asked them if I can get the courier delivery schedule to see when they tried to deliver.

I did not receive any feedback from Vodacom and in February I phoned again to follow up on the situation. The consultant said that there were no support/request tickets open on my account. I had to explain the whole situation and go through the process again to escalate the matter.

It is now the end of April and I’m still waiting for the escalation team to give me feedback, so I presume they had forgotten about me long ago or just do not care and I’m still paying the higher amount for my internet every month. Naturally I will be cancelling my current home internet with Vodacom and they’ll probably still say I need to give them the 20 business days notice and make me wait and pay another month.
