Almost 2years ago I bought a phone at Vodacom on contract. Found out the next day the phone does not have Google, so I could not download WhatsApp and all the other apps I would need to use the phone conveniently. So, I decide to bite the bullet and keep the phone. I struggled for the 2years to "source" WhatsApp from another app. 2years later September 1st I call in to cancel the contract because my contract is coming to an end on 22nd September 2025. After 10 +min on the phone waiting for someone to answer a lady called Asheefah answers.. I tell her the reason for my call is to cancel the contract I have with them because the contract period is coming to an end at the end of the month on on the 22nd to be specific. Mind you.. I waited 10+min on the phone for assistance, Asheefah eventually answers I spend another 10-15min talking to her asking her to log/process the cancelation of my contract. We hang up. I believe the cancelation process launched. I wait a whole week for the confirmation of cancelation email from said Asheefah, no confirmation email. 8days after I spoke with said *********** consultant I call again. Now, I'm being told that I submitted my cancelation late and therefore I am being charged a full cycle for the next month. I honestly thought it would be that easy. I was diligently debited for 2years.. Never late on payment. I am very angry towards said *********** consultant for taking me for a ride. How many other people are they not ****ming by making it deliberately difficult to cancel their contracts. And to make matters even worse they don't pick up the phones. The phones rings forever until someone decides to answer and by that time they have deliberately wasted your airtime, then they tell you to hang on then you wait another eternity for them to come back from wherever they went to all in a bid to get you to hangup the phone or for your airtime to run out. Then they blame you because you hung up n the consultant while they know very well that you must have run out of airtime. Talk about being sneaky and EXPLOITING CUSTOMERS out of their own hard earned money.
