Don't sign up with Vodacom, they will never cancel your contract

Since the end of January I have made numerous attempts to cancel the contract that I have with Vodacom. I have sent many emails to the cancellation and retentions department in which I have included my identity details and requested that my contract be cancelled. I am currently living In New Zealand, so in addition, my son has made numerous calls to Vodacom. The people at the call centre say that they cannot contact retentions and cancellations except by email which they claim to have attempted to do. In addition, my son has gone to several Vodacom stores with my power of attorney in an attempt to cancel this contract. Calls have been made by kind shop managers but retentions and cancellations will not respond. I am not sure whether this is simply incredible incompetance or a desire to continue the contract as long as possible, in which case it is extremly dishonest of Vodacom. In either case Vodacom should be ashamed of itself. I was a loyal Vodacom customer for 10 years and I cannot begin to express my disapointment in this company that I once respected. Vodacom must please note that I will no longer continue to pay for this contract after today the 16th of April 2017 regardless of what you charge. Shame on you Vodacom!
