Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing?
(Thought I) upgraded my contract in August when I received a call a sales person on behalf of/from 'Vodacom'.
Was 'upgraded' from my open line (which I'd had for the past 15 plus years) to a top-up - where my understanding of a top-up differed from the sales person.
A week of calls followed, due to my address being incorrect, my phone was finally delivered.
2 weeks later I ran out of airtime and needed to purchased airtime?! Called Vodacom, to be advised I was on a top-up not open line and I would need to send my phone back, cancel the contract and renew the contract the following month.
Placed a review on Hello Peter, received a call in response advising I had been told my contract was a top-up (my understanding of a top-up was clearly not correct) and the contract stands and nothing can be done about it.
I explained I had spoken to someone (31 August) and been advised my phone was being collected and contract cancelled - why the conflicting information? Was told my contract could not be cancelled.
A few days later (4 September) courier arrived to collect the phone?! Called Vodacom immediately to be told my phone was being collected as my contract was being cancelled and I could renew in October with an open-line contract.
Now I am confused
Saturday morning (5 September) I wake up to an e-mail advising my query had been looked at and the contract could not be cancelled.
Now mind is blown
I call Vodacom to query, as the phone had been collected and who had collected it and where was it. Was told contract had been cancelled and I could take out a new contract in October.
Yesterday (16 September) I receive a call from the courier company advising they were trying to deliver a phone from Vodacom and were unable to find my address.
What?!
1) How many parties and I dealing with? 2) Is my contract cancelled or not? 3) Why such conflicting information? 4) I did not accept the phone - what is the status on the 2nd phone?
