***** and shady way of operating with client details and rights
Where do I begin....
I got called by a third party which up sells Vodacom contracts. Firstly I was not notified that is a third party as they call centre agent positioned the call as its from Vodacom. He wants to migrate my secondary contract to a higher value to which I agreed but stipulated I will keep the discount I had when taking up the sim only upgrade. On 1 April I decided to have a look at my account to ensure the agreed upon amount would reflect. As suspected I was charged a complete different amount and staying calm and professional I requested the call recording to see if I might have missed something.
I asked on the social media page (messager) and was called by a friendly lady. I was told that I would hear back from Vodacom once they have feedback this was on 4 April.
On 9 April I followed up on any feedback. On10 April I got a message stating ''As per our chat, we have advised you accordingly in regards to feedback that was provided by our sales team.'
We have sent a request through to them, requesting them to send the call recordings to Vodacom Somerset Mall including the letter with the finding of the call recordings.'
On 13 April I followed up as I wanted the findings to be mailed to me on a Vodacom letter head for legal reasons and I was still waiting to hear that the recording was available. Here is where things got interesting. I got ignored on messager and I decided to ask on your social media posts. Got a snotty response to ask if i went to the branch to listen to the recording.... Of which I was never informed its available.
Went to the branch today to be told its at a different branch that is closed today. So I need to go tomorrow or on the weekend.
I posted once again that I want the email in my inbox by 8am tomorrow morning and I want to be phoned today still.
Below is the response I got, 'Hi Lizanne,
We have tried to make contact with you on the number ********** 790, but with no luck.
We received communication from our sales team, that they have attempted to call you however to no avail.
Can you please provide us with an alternative contact number, so that our team can be in touch.'
Why would Vodacom always phone me on my primary number or atleast ask but somehow the whole of Vodacom phones the number in question but didn't think to phone the longest standing contract number and also the only contract with a device.
I will reporting Vodacom to the consumer protection act as i am being denied information in regards with a contract that I am paying for. Contract insurance was added to my account without me agreeing to it and a month later I still don't have the information I requested
Needless to say I will be closing all three my contracts with you and I will get my whole family to port their numbers away from Vodacom even if I need to pay for it as I cannot sit back and let you take advantage of people and actually try and get away with it
