Do you even care about Widows?

My mom has been trying to help a 80 year old widow with the cancelation of her late husbands cell phone account - and also the transferring of this number so that Mrs. Kinghorn can still use the number.

The facts:

My mothers details - Elsebie Hough - ********** (who is trying to assist this lady in a wheelchair and who has had a stroke)

Reference number: EC/04FOZQFEY4 - Submitted 16 November

ID: ********** 026084

Tel number in question: ********** 168

Account: ********** 6/7

Mr. Lesley Kinghorn

Passed away 14 July 2016

Mrs. Kinghorn keeps on receiving sms's that she is still owing you money after having paid everything that is outstanding to date, after every sms she contacts my mom in a state and after the last sms she wanted to drink pills to end her life as this whole scenario was just too much.

My mom has gone to so many Vodacom stores to try and get assistance, every time having to take Mrs. Kinghorn in a wheelchair along with her. Sheree at your Moffet on Main offices in Port Elizabeth took the documentation on the 16th of November, which they were told were the first date that they could submit the documentation to cancel after his death. After a follow up with her she nicely told my mom that they are a walk in centre and she cannot assist her any futher. Surely if you take accountability for a query you see that it gets done and you assist the client until final resolution.

She gave my mom a number to dial to sort this out herself - she dialed ********** the first time - held on for 30 minutes and then was asked for the reference number, which she didn't have - surely you can look up on the system with the ID etc.....She then phoned back with the reference number, held on for 25 minutes and all of sudden was asked to complete a survey and then the line went dead - really professional.

It saddens me that this is the way we treat the elderly - my mom herself is 73 and just trying to help, where is the Customer Service in trying to help pensioners who do not have the means of going into your walk in offices every second day to keep on asking what is going on. And they can't be phoning numbers and holding on for 30 minutes at a time with no resolution.

PLEASE can someone who cares contact my mom directly to assist us please - PLEASE DO NOT PHONE Mrs. Kinghorn she is on the verge of a breakdown with this.

Would appreciate someone caring

Michelle Lees
