DO NOT UPGRADE ONLINE - HOAX

Did a very basic upgrade online on a Sunday Samsung J1 @ R219

- got the feedback "A call centre agent will contact you shortly”.

So for online instant upgrades – hoax –

On Monday 1 August about 09h00 I called the online number to confirm my order and that I would receive it within 24 hours, as it was my Daughter’s birthday the next day and this was her gift. The person I spoke to said it would take 3-5 days and therefore I said to her to please cancel the order and that I would go to a branch in Port Elizabeth to collect. As it was not confirmed or approved, she said it would be removed.

Later that day I went to a branch in Port Elizabeth to do the upgrade only to discover that somebody from the online centre had done an upgrade, but not for J1 but a S6 with Data and other products/services, total value R499.50, 128% increase and also delivery to an address in JHB. So this looked like a ********** item put on my account.

When contacting them on ********** 8, after been on hold for about 10min before getting in contact with someone, which was Celeste. I was asked numerous questions and were told that they would not be able to reverse it straight away and that would need to wait. When asking for a supervisor I was told that they were not available and they would call me back. On making numerous other phone calls to other departments at Vodacom reporting the ********** case but to no avail all just referred back to the call centre with Celeste. She would not let me past her to a supervisor or giving any other information as to who loaded this ********** action. Eventually after the numerous calls and chase around at Vodacom, gave up at 18h00 on 1 Aug. See call list: Call times and duration 1 August 2016: 14:59 – 4m29s, 15:04 – 13m29s, 15:25 – 1m24s, 15:27 ‑ 0m47s, 15:49 – 24m34s, 16:14 – 15m51s, 16:48 – 3m13s, 16:54 – 0m37s, 16:55 – 1m3s, 16:56 – 0m50s, 16:57 – 0m38s, 16:59 – 1m5s, 17:33 – 22m38s.

Started phoning again on 2 August, 08:23, to follow up what is happening. When speaking to the supervisor, Jennifer, after holding on for about 30min and going past Celeste eventually, that this false upgrade was loaded by Celeste in error. So thanks Celeste for messing up my daughter’s birthday, no wonder she did not want to refer me to someone else. Jennifer also mentioned that Celeste was taken off upgrade and they would investigate the cause of the error, as they call it.

In discussions with Jennifer she mentioned that it would be rectified within the next hour.

So when I phoned at 12h30 to follow up, I was told by Celeste that the managers are in meetings and Jennifer is on lunch that it is still not rectified and they were pushing it to get done today. Also Jennifer **** saying that Celeste was taken off the upgrades because who answered the phone, Celeste. Call times and duration 2 August 2016: 08:23 – 35m51s, 12:30 – 7m20s

Recommendation, rather pay the R150 and go to a branch and DO Not do an upgrade online.

Still no proper feedback from Vodacom, I have had to continually phone but still no answer as to when it will be resolved.
Very strange that Vodacom cannot remove their own mistakes off the system. I have made numerous phone calls since Monday 1 August to no reaction from Vodacom. I have had false promises from numerous people at the online division promising to have it sorted and will come back with answers and some of them are, Celeste, Jennifer, Louise Strauss and even Le-Anne who was the only one to apologise, but also promised feedback before end of business no matter what has happened.
I can guarantee there will be no compensation for the inconvenience for me and my daughter...
WELL DONE VODACOM ON YOUR PUTRID SERVICE.
Off the Vodacom Website:
"What we value
Speed: We address problems quickly, and act with pace and energy."
Nowhere close to the value statements opening line.... all 3 negative there is nothing like quickly, waiting 4 days already, no pace long waiting online to get through to someone and then even slow.... energy, maybe only if they drank Redbull, otherwise no energy or responsibility.... seems like they are all NAFI, which stands for No Ambition F..... Interest.
So maybe it is time to move after been loyal for 12 years....as they say if you want loyalty buy a dog...
