DO NOT TAKE OUT A VODACOM CONTRACT

I am at my wit's end with Vodacom.

I was due to upgrade/renew at the end of 2019 and called to cancel it. I then saw I was being debited still 2 months after. I called again, the lady apologised & then confirmed that all is in order and the cancellation as been rectified and I was put through to the accounts department so they could arrange the refund for the money which was debited. No refund was received and I continued being debited each month. I called again with my reference numbers (By this time I had a few), and was put through to a few different agents as no one could give me any answers. I was eventually told that the only thing they can do is get the call recording from the original cancellation call - I gave them the date and reference number. I asked that they email the recording to me. I waited and did not receive anything via email, telephone call, nothing. When I emailed the guy I had been dealing with, I did not receive any response. I was then told to email ***' with my complaints, no response.

At this point I gave up and began reversing the debit orders in hopes that it would pre-empt them to contact me & sort the issue out. I was not contacted. I have now been handed over to the debt collecting agency (I assume as they have called me on Vodacoms behalf) and when I contacted Vodacom to say that I will settle the amount - Even though I DEFINITELY DO NOT think I should have to, but I want to know once and for all that they have cancelled the contract and I will not have this issue going forward. To which I was told they cannot confirm that until the amount is settled. I am ready to pull my hair out.

I am not a chancer. I waited till my contract was due to be upgraded or canceled, at which time I chose to cancel. Yet, over a year later I am still fighting an endless battle and I do not see why I need to pay the consequences of inadequate staff not knowing how to correctly process a contract cancellation.

I will never recommend Vodacom to anyone. Myself and family were with them for many years and have all changed over. Their service is shocking and I've heard of many cases much the same as mine, where they just take chances with accounts and when the client notices, no one can help.

Reviewer Update
This is still not resolved. I was told that the amount I paid in (to avoid any black listing issues) would be paid back, as I was not owing anything. No one at Vodacom is able to assist me. I keep being told that they will review and get back to me yet I am still waiting to be reimbursed.
