Do not subscribe to Vodacom LTE - you will be bitterly disappointed.
Ordering an LTE from Vodacom was a simple process and everything happened simply and easily and within 3 days a router arrived, then the problems started in that the router sim card was not set up to LTE only and first had to be put into a phone to have its settings changed to wifi only. Then realizing that the 30 meg line is not achievable and when dialing in to query being told to wait for the service department to contact you ... which is a myth and doesn't happen. Then after trying to cancel the product being told to not talk to the cancelation department but the "online" department to cancel. And then not hearing from them again after 3 days calling them again and asking them why nobody came to collect the item... they have no recollection of you calling or notification number of it ever taking place...then they want you to wait only 72 hours to see what happens.... nothing happens and the process repeats itself 3 times. In the meantime its gone from September to Mid October somewhere you got a reference number for a courier to collect the offending device .... they refuse that you arrange the shipping leg back to them or that you take it to the closest Vodacom dealer.... their courier absolutely must pitch up to collect it..... you wait another 3 days ... still absolutely zero communication back regarding when/what/who/where the item has to be ready for collection and the client must accept to happily continue to pay for service which was so poor that cancelation was requested in the first place.
In summary the Vodacom cancelation department can not cancel the Vodacom LTE contracts and can only send continued escalations and requests to the "online" department to do so. The "online" department do not communicate to anybody ...neither Vodacom or the Client regarding what they doing, or planning to do going forward. They seemingly may not send SMS notifications or Emails. So the client just sits and waits indefinitely to figure out if something is going to happen, and inevitably nothing happens. But the customer is expected to continue full rates while nothing and pathetic service delivery continues to unfold.
MTN allows you to go dump your router at the closest physical service center and don't try to force you into anything more than 30 days. Vodacom tries to bully clients into feeling guilty about their poor service delivery and want to force clients into having to buy themselves out of a 24 month contract. Even though they will never ever be able to provide a stable LTE service, as advertised.
I've never in my life, had to deal with a service provider who blatantly and arrogantly refuses to understand that there service simply "sucks" and based on that element alone, as much as you the client wants to believe in there empty promises, based on the actual outcomes of the survives delivered and customer pre existing agreements, you just can not possibly be expected to continue paying for little to no service delivery. The only way in my opinion is taking legal action for effort and frustration caused.
