Do not start a phone contract with Vodacom
My father just passed away two months ago. He was paying for eight phone contracts (his brother and parents and his two children and wife etc) Because my sister and I are still students and my mom is retrenched so he was supporting us.

Three days before he died, he paid the monthly fee to Vodacom for all eight contracts. The day after his death Vodacom froze all of the contracts (we therefore could not use our phones at all even though the whole month was paid for already by my father). over the last two months Vodacom has told us we must pay the outstanding fee for all eight contracts which amounts to about 54 000 rand to which we will lose out on all the data, smses and calls that we agreed to receive when we first signed the contracts. None of us have been able to put the contracts over to our accounts as we do not have a three month pay slip etc.

Now, after only two months we have found out from Vodacom that they have deleted all of our numbers from their system. So ontop of us not receiving the data for the month that my dad paid for just before he passed away and being phone less for two months, we now have to buy new sim cards and get a new number and pay a massive fee.
