DO NOT OPEN ANY CONTRACTS WITH VODACOM !

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Vodacom! We have been trying to cancel a cellphone contract since the middle of February. We paid the premature cancellation fee and forwarded the cancellation to the email address that THEY gave to us (documents were sent multiple times from February to March). They have continued the monthly debit orders. Every week when we phone, we were told the matter is being escalated. Managers have promised to get back to us MULTIPLE TIMES, but NEVER did. It is now the end of August and the contract ends in a week. We have requested a refund for the R 8 500 premature cancellation fee we paid in February since the cancellation was never done, and they are telling us that they never received the cancellation documents that we sent. Why would they provide us with an email address that is not being monitored?! They are only cancelling the contract NOW, a week before it ends, and are charging us for late cancellation. We only received a credit of about R 1000, not the full R 8 500.

I received an email from them today stating :

"Good day

All necessary credits processed and the vas that was charged is itemised bill and the the subscription and handset was covered by the amount you paid. We did not receive the cancellation documents so the delay was not on our side however credits processed for premature cancellation discount and vas.

Regards Olga"

To which I responded :

"Hi Olga,

As stated previously, we have made multiple phone calls requesting that the cancellation be processed and have been told multiple times that the cancellation was being processed since FEBRUARY. Your premature cancellation form says to forward all cancellation docs to *** within 14 days of receipt of the quote, which we did on Fri 2021/02/12, email attached. We were then asked to forward cancellation docs AGAIN multiple times in April to *** , emails attached. Vodacom provided us with these email addresses so I’m having a hard time understanding why you would provide us email addresses that aren’t being monitored. That is a Vodacom issue, not ours. "
