Do away with call centers- they serve no purpose

Unbox your S8.. sure. I upgraded online and included a Gear S3 Frontier in my upgrade. Stated it 3 times to the agent that assisted me with the initial quote and the eventual order. Then you deliver a Gear S3 Classic and when i phone to ask that you pick it up and bring the correct item i am told that all the items including the phone and promotional items had to be returned. Once returned the order will be cancelled, new order placed and from that time 2 to 5 working days for delivery. If the previous 2 to 5 days are an indication, i am looking at another 2 weeks before i have a phone and watch. The agents helping me today and during my order are completely ***********, don’t know their products or packages and I had to explain it to them – go listen to the recordings. When I did not accept the feedback today and wanted to speak to a senior, I was put on hold for 20 minutes before Mpho came on the line. I am convinced that they hoped I would cut the call. I attach the call record so that you can see that your call center agents kept me on the line for 33 minutes. That after 3 other calls to try and sort this out. I requested that Mpho mail me his details as well as the details of the agent that assisted me – I am still waiting for that mail. I am sick and tired of call centers that do not have the mandate to address customer issues and can only hide behind process. Why don’t you get machines and fire the lot – their responses are automated and inflexible in any case. After being with Vodacom for probably close to 30 years, you show no interest in retaining a client. I would have expected a same day service or at a minimum the Gear S3 to be replaced in isolation in the shortest possible time and me having the use of the new phone at least. Lastly, I may add, that this complaint is on the back of a multitude of other incidents which I just don’t have the time or energy to explain. We are not spoiled for choice when it comes to service providers, but if you had to choose one I suggest you make Vodacom the last on your list. They are the worst when it comes to customer service.
