Dissatisfied.
Good day,
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, I realized that my SIM card was not working after missing several important calls the previous day. I spoke with four different Vodacom agents before someone finally informed me that my number had been locked by the Forensics department. No reason was given for this action.
My contract payment was made on May 2, 2024, and this has been confirmed by the Collections department. Despite this, I was advised that I might (or might not) need to perform a SIM swap at a Vodacom branch – it will only be confirmed within the next 48 hours. The nearest Vodacom branch is 40 km away in another town. This situation presents several issues:
1. Cost and Inconvenience: I will have to pay for fuel, purchase a new SIM card, and drive 40 km without a working SIM card, which poses a safety risk should I need to call for help. 2. Lost Income and Time: I am losing income and falling behind on other commitments due to this issue, none of which is my fault. My account is in good standing, and I have not breached any terms of my contract.
The hours I have spent trying to resolve this issue were wasted due to the incompetence of the agents, with only the fourth agent providing any useful information. As a loyal customer with four contracts under my name, and having used this number for almost 12 years, I feel that the cost and inconvenience of resolving this issue should not fall on me.
I would like to know what Vodacom will do to reimburse me and rectify this situation.
Sincerely
