Dissatisfaction with service from Vodacom Service Department
During 2021 my Vodacom account was suspended due to non payment. This stemmed from the covid pandemic. I was a loyal Vodacom subscriber for over 20 years. I had 4 cellphone contracts with Vodacom and 1 fibre line contract. I had subsequently made arrangements with Vodacom Collections Department to pay the arrears ( approximately R12 000)in monthly instalments. Despite this arrangement all the services ( including fibre remained suspended). My cellphone contracts were converted to prepaid. When i requested to reinstate my services i was informed that the services will only be reinstated once the arrears are fully paid. I could not even do a sim swop. I received another email from Vodacom indicating the amount outstanding now is R17000 and the matter will be handed over to attorneys should payment not be made. When i enquired the reason for the amount escalating from R12000 to R17000 I was informed by the agent from Collection Department that Vodacom fibre was still billing me on a monthly basis despite my account being suspended and that I should seek clarity from that Department. When i phoned an agent Judith from the Vodacom Fibre Department I was informed that I did not cancel contract hence they were billing me on monthly basis until May 2022. I explained to agent that my account was suspended approximately 2 years ago (including the fibre line) and was not getting any service from fibre line. I asked agent to clarify why Vodacom was charging for a service i was not receiving and that was tantamount to *****. I was referred to Legal Department and spoke to Precious who indicated that Vodacom Fibre Department should have reconcilled the account and given a a credit note for the months Vodacom Fibre Department billed me after the services were suspended and that the matter should be resolved by them.
