Dishonesty and *****ery

When I renewed my Vodacom contract in November, I chose a "You Choose 110" package, giving me R100 talktime and an aditional 2GB data and 100 SMSes bundle. In total, my account came to R639 including insurance. In March, someone from Vodacom called me stating that they see that I run out of data and that I could change my package to receive R500, and I could then purchase a 5gig data bundle recurring and still have R100 for calls for only R200 extra a month. I agreed to this over the phone. Imagine my horror when my cell phone bill increased by over R400 at the end of March. I called customer care once I'd received my invoice in early April and requested that my account be reverted back to what I originally chose when I renewed by contact as this option is more than I was told and I cannot afford to waste so much money on a cell phone every month. I was assured this would be done from May 1. I checked my balances today I saw that all that has been done is that my recurring 5gig data bundle has been deactivated. Again, I called customer care and I was told I'd have to migrate and would have to pay a migration fee. I was then put through to a lady who told me my migration fee will be over R2000. This is totally unacceptable. I SIGNED for one contract, was encouraged DISHONESTLY to upgrade that contract and now I must be ****** of a further R2000 + to revert back to what I signed for! Vodacom tells you that your calls are recorded. This should be for customer's protection too, not just theirs. If this is indeed so, the call I received to increase my contract for R200 a month should be available, as well as the call I made in April to revert back to my chosen contact and the assurance I was given that this would be done. Now I must pay R2000+ to make this happen. I have been a Vodacom customer for nearly 20 years, with a few hiccups along the way. But this has sealed the deal that once my contact is up with this thieving corporation, I will cancel all services. It is an utter disgrace to LIE and ABUSE customers like this. Shame on you, Vodacom. Yet when I read through the reviews Vodacom has received on this site, I don't know why I'm surprised. Clearly their customers are anything but valued. So, NO Vodacom, I will most definitely NOT recommend you to ANY friends or family!
