Dishonest and ********* business practices at Vodacom.

I called Vodacom to confirm my intent to cancel my contract expiring in March, this was done without a hassle and in same breath I was offered a new deal. The consultant confirmed that for R139 I would be offered R200 worth of airtime and 1 Gig of data. To my surprise I received an invoice showing that I will be receiving R200 air time and not data? I called in to the service centre and was told that the offer is only for R200 and the 1 Gig is a promotional gift which will be only valid for one month, I requested that the contract be cancelled immediately as I was obviously given false information by the gentleman who renewed by contract. My call was then transferred to another consultant who after checking my profile advised that he would be directing my call to the cancellation department, I held on for close to 20 minutes and was advised to try the department later as they are receiving high call volumes. It is no wonder that they are receiving high call volumes because clearly customers have been sold contracts with false information. I will not be calling in and want an agent to urgently contact me to rectify this ********* conduct, it is truly disgusting how consultants will easily provide false information just to get a sale!
