Disgusting Vodacom service

I went to Vodacom Blue Route Mall in Cape Town to switch from contract to prepaid as my contract expired in February already. The consultant who assited me, according to her, put the cancellation through and evrything was done, or so I thought. The minute I stepped out of the store, my network/line got suspended and my cellphone became inactive. I had to endure 5 days of no cellphone usage as apparently my account was sent to the pre-legal department. After the 5 days (due to public holidays) I went to the Vodacom Century City store where I was told, that the consultant had messed up the cancellation and they assisted me. The following day my cellphone was working, but no cancellation was logged. The first excuse they gave me was that my account was in arrears (it wasn't so as I was told by Vodacom Century City), the second reason was that I my line was suspended due to a fault on Vodacom's side. After a week of usage, my cellphone just decided to go inactive again (this was yesterday - 27/03). I just got off from an hour long call trying to rectify the same issue that I have experienced before. MY LINE BEING SUSPENDED. Vodacom call centre/accounts department/solutions department are unable to assist me and all are just apologising for the inconvenience. I dont want apologies, I want my cellphone active! I am curently awaiting a call from a "conveniently busy manager" and was assured by the consultant that she would call me. I AM LIVID! Nobody seems to have an answer for me. I have spoken to 5 consultants who have passed me to each other, and having to explain and give the same details over and over again. Imagine my frustration. My cellphone assists me with my job...Nobody can conveniently help me, but the minute a payment is one day late, they are the first to call and notify you that your line will be suspended. How is it that they can easily get hold of you when it is convenient for them, but the minute we require their assistance, NOBODY IS AVAILABLE!!! Please assist me in this regard. Anybody? Somebody? Some advice please!
