Disgusting service from an *********** Vodacom
On 5 June 2019 I requested cancellation of contracts on 2 of the several mobile numbers I have on contract with Vodacom, at the Vodacom shop in the Waverley Plaza in Pretoria; and requested that these 2 numbers be converted to prepaid numbers. According to the feedback from Vodacom, this was done and I would not be paying the contract fee on these as from 30 June 2019. At the beginning of July I realized that Vodacom cancelled the wrong contract (a data contract which I want to retain). I went back to the Vodacom shop, but they informed me that they cannot assist me and that I must phone Vodacom directly. I phoned Vodacom on 8 July, at 16H00 - on *** - and spoke to someone named Happy. I explained my problem and Happy confirmed that Vodacom converted the wrong number to prepaid. He logged a ticket with the cancellations department and promised that the cancellations department would call me and correct the mistake by restoring the data contract and converting the correct number to prepaid. To date no-one has contacted me to correct this mistake and this is creating enormous problems in my life as I need the data contract activated in order to fulfill daily tasks.
While making the above enquiry with Happy it also came to light that there's also a problem with the second number I requested to be converted to prepaid. The agreement was that from 1 July this would be converted to prepaid, but I found that this will only be done from 1 August - causing extended contract billing which is not what Vodacom told me on making the initial request.
While I wait for the cancellations department to call me, about the ticket Happy logged, I receive an sms from Vodacom, informing me that the ticket has been closed without them correcting the error. So, on 11 July I phone Vodacom on *** to try and resolve the matter. The person who answered the call transferred me to the cancellations department to resolve the matter. But, they tell me that they cannot assist me and that I should go back to the Vodacom shop where I initially made the request. So I go back to the shop. However, here they tell me that they do not have access to the systems involved in the cancellation and that they cannot assist me. They refer me back to Vodacom cancellations department to resolve the matter.
I am being sent from pillar to post trying to get a bunch of *********** people to fix an error they made; which is costing me money and causing tremendous inconvenience and disruption.
