DISGUSTING SERVICE

On 26 July 2019 I submitted a complaint to Vodacom and to date I still have received no feedback except the reference EC-1RAI-261RRE.

On 25 May 2019, I received the delivery of a P30 lite mobile device as an upgrade on my existing Vodacom contract. I was elated until Monday 15 July 2019 arrived. Around 11h30 that morning I was unable to unlock my device. I could only see a black screen with the time and date.

Needless to say, I took the phone back to a Vodacom store. First store I visited was Vodacom Zevenwacht mall where Ashley told me that he didn’t know what the problem was but he could try and wipe the phone at a cost of R160. This being the phone I had for just over a month. I was not willing to pay this money initially and left the store. I then returned later that day and was informed that the wipe could not happen because the technician who can do this had already left.

I then made my was to Vodacom at Somerset mall who referred me to the repair centre in Somerset west. It was too late in that day to be able to make it to the repair centre. On Thursday 18 July 2019 I visited the repair centre I was referred to. I was assisted by two gentleman who told me that the phone needed a software upgrade at a cost of R250. I say again, this is a phone I had less than 2 months. I refused to pay this money and left the store.

I then contacted Vodacom who told me to return to the store as no charges should apply for the repair at this stage. The next day Friday 19 July 2019, I called the store and spoke to a technician Brighton who confirmed that no charge is to apply. He told me to return to the store AGAIN and request to speak to him. The phone was booked in under job number ***8.

On 24 July 2019 I called the store to follow up on the repair as the sms I received stated that the repair would take 2-3 days. I was told that a part was ordered for the phone on Tuesday 23 July. On Thursday 25 July, I was informed that the device was ready for collection. I made arrangements for the device to be collected. I was informed that I would get and exchange. To my surprise the speaker on the exchange did not work.

I obviously called the store AGAIN and was informed that I should return the device. On 03 August 2019 I went the store yet again! One of the technicians informed that I should go home with my phone, he will order a new speaker and call me to arrange a collection of my device as I cannot keep traveling the distance to the store. Up until today, I follow up with them and keep being told that the part has not arrived yet (No offer for a replacement has been made).

On 03 October 2019 I called Vodacom whom I have a contract with and spoke to a useless customer service manager Mlungisi Kunene who basically told me there is nothing they can do I have to go to the store. He made no attempt to even follow up with the store himself.

I have reached my wits end with Vodacom. I am expected to pay for a handset I cannot use effectively. I want Vodacom to replace the piece **** I was given immediately. If I could I would cancel my contract with them
