Disgusting service

On the 18th of December I took out a S9 contract from the Vodacom Westwood store for R599 a month. The box was opened at the store and sim inserted. Within 24 hours I decided I no longer wanted the contract. Various calls to Vodacom Customer care told me I was within my right to return the phone and cancel the contract. The Store manager told me I should bring in the phone which I did the next day. However, on returning the phone the assistant Sylvestor who took in my phone told me they as a store were doing me a favour and such cancellations are not usually allowed. I was told that since they are doing me a favour they are keeping my sim card, as well as a separate accessory phone cover which I purchased. However I was told that I would be getting charged a pro rata bill for the month of November. I did ask if I could keep the sim card so i could use minutes and data which I was paying for November and the guy said no. After leaving I was told , the phone would be sent to Vodacom who would get back to them within 48 hours and they would in turn inform me of the outcome of the cancellation. Devon the manager said he would call me but never did. When I called a few days later he hastily responded and just said yes the contract is cancelled. On the 30th of November when I called Vodacom Customer care they told me there was no record of any cancellation from the store and my sim card was being used. The lady informed me that minutes as well as data had been used. I would like to add that this was an open line with a possibility to ring up a huge bill. I immediately told her then to block the line which she did. I went into the store the next day and told Devon the manager about the cancellation not being recorded as well as my sim card being used. Regarding the cancellation, he insisted he processed it but could not show me any record of any cancellation. He was not very concerned about the use of my sim card but to just please me he said he would investigate and call me on Monday. He never called back and later that week I had to call back. It would appear they only put through my cancellation on the 3rd of December despite me returning the phone on the 19th of November. Later that week I spoke to Mthibisi who was the assistant who helped me take out the contract. He told me that the cancellation had gone through but still he could not give me anything electronically but I could come to the store to see proof of cancellation. I was explicitly told by Devon and Mthubisi I would not get a bill for December. Few weeks later I received an invoice for December. When calling the store, Devon again just blurted out that its because the invoices were generated already and he is assuring me there is no charge for December. I later called Vodacom Customer Care and they said the cancellation had only been put through on the 3rd and that is the reason for me being charged. They said they could not assist and I needed to go to the store. I went to the store and the service I received on that day was the worst service I have ever received in my life. Devon who I had spoken to earlier was in the back room of the store and refused to come out. I was arguing with Mthubisi and The Muslim lady with the scarf who was in the back with Devon was just staring at me through the back window as if she was informing Devon. Mthubisi who as I mentioned earlier told me I should come to the store to see proof of my cancellation then denied that. After further arguing he then showed me a screen display saying the cancellation went through on 3rd of December but a prior cancellation in November was declined. I was never told about this. Mthubisi was extremely rude and arrogant when speaking to me. He was not concerned about the specific details of my case and constantly spoke of how he has been working for Vodacom for 8 years and no one has ever being charged after a cancellation. He was condescending and when I brought up the issue of my sim card been used he assumed I was accusing him of using my sim card which I never did. He went off on a rant about me threatening him and tried to diverge from my case. At that same visit, i then enquired from sylvestor about the use of my sim card and he denied that he used my card. Mthubisi then called someone at vodacom but did dont have the call on speaker however it was clear that whoever he spoke to did tell him that there is a chance I will be billed for December. Mthubisi did not know what to say and told me he will get back to me the next day after sending an email which he never did. I was appalled at how I was treated and did not bother contacting this store again. The manager Devon did not bother coming out at all that day. As of today the 1st of January I have been billed for December for R599. It would appear Vodacom plans on charging me for a phone I had for a total of 20hours. My separate accessory phone cover was **********ly taken by the store as well as a sim card on my name used by the store yet they all cover for each other and deny it. This together with the arrogant, unpprofessional behaviour of ALL of the staff is disgusting . The manager's behaviour overall has been the worst as he is a ****, never calls back and says anything to get you to leave him alone.

Kindly note that a generic response is not a response. I have still not been contacted as the reply said I would. To conclude I have also lodged a ***** dispute and vodacom has not responded to that as well. Clearly Vodacom is so desperate to cling onto my R599 that they dont care about customer service.
