Disgusting Ripoff and Poor Service
So after giving the Scottburgh Vodacom store ample time to resolve my issue I have to resort to this forum. I am not so proud owner of an iPhone X. The phone is now just over a year old. Well within the warranty period (of which I was not initially aware of) the phone started giving problems and various functions did their own thing, whatsapp message would turn into facetime with a random stranger, for example. I took the phone to Scottburgh where I was told they did not have a technician so I would have to go to Galleria Vodacom.......and this is where the trouble started! The technician told me TO TAKE A VIDEO of what the phone was doing. Now being an obedient person because seriously what do I know about the technical side of phones? I returned home and now had to time when the phone was misbehaving at the same time as having someone around to video the action!!!! This process as you can understand took more than a week! When I had the video I returned to Galleria where I showed the video to another technician. He stated the phone needed to go for repair however could not offer me a temporary phone. The original technician had also left. I naturally could not just hand my phone in without arranging a temporary phone, this process took another week and I am currently using a borrowed iPhone7. As soon as I had a replacement phone I returned to Scottburgh and handed my phone in to be sent for repair! A week later I received an SMS telling me phone would cost R6386.50 to repair!! This is a R25k phone that failed within the ridiculous 1 year warranty period that is offered. I have video evidence which is date stamped and still Vodacom Durban Repairs refuses to repair my phone!!! The Scottburgh branch has attempted to resolve this matter as they were aware the phone was not functioning and have also I believe given up as they also don't return calls. I refuse to pay for the repair of this phone due to the incompetence of the Vodacom Galleria store and still pay the monthly instalment on a R25000 piece of ******* that fails in well under a year!!!
