disgusted to say the least

I have been a loyal customer to the network for over 10 years with 8 contracts under my name. I pay my contracts on time and the network has never had any issues with me. Early in August I took my daughter’s IPhone 6s to Vodacom the grove to be repaired. It was on a Friday afternoon and I know all of us are always hyped up to get home on Fridays but it is unacceptable in the service industry.

The service at Vodacom the Grove is always poor. I am not one to complain. I think it is evident that I am a rather patient person because I am complaining months later only. My daughter and I walked into the store. No one came to assist us. We had to find the repair counter by ourselves and when we got there we were assisted by Miguel. Miguel was not of much help. I had to ask him to try plug the phone into the pc and try see what was wrong instead of just booking it in. he did so after I asked him and my daughter basically had to beg him to see if of her documents on the phone could be saved. He made it such a mission to switch off her “find my iphone” via the stores pc. After the horrible service received, the phone to date has not been returned to me.

I visited the store 3 weeks after handing in the phone because someone from the Potch office phoned my daughter to tell her the she has 1 of two options. She receives a refurbished phone or she gets her same phone that just died and stopped charging and has to take it to the nearest Apple Doctor. What fails me is why do I pay so much on insurance and I don’t get a brand new phone or an option to choose a different make phone? A fee of R900 had to be paid upfront for both options. Ridiculous!

We went to the store to pick up the refurbished phone two weeks after the call from the Potch office and when we got there we got told the phone is not at the store they cant track it. 2weeks ago I paid another visit to the store and one of the agents told me the same thing and gave me a contact number to the Potch office to find out where my phone is. My question to Vodacom is, why do I pay over R600 monthly to get treated like dirt? When another mobile network could gladly offer me the same service even better too at a cheaper cost? I have been paying for a phone for 3 months that I am not using. It is ridiculous and I am disgusted in the service delivery. I have always consulted the Menlyn store and got top service but due to the fact that the Grove is closer to my house it is more convenient to get there. I don’t know what steps to follow as I am out of options. I sincerely hope this review gets me the help I need…
