Disgusted ********** and no customer service

I have been with Vodacom most of the time I have had a cell phone contact never had a problem untill now. Last contract we took out before this was December 2014. All went smooth and we were very happy.

Vodacom then told myself and my girlfiend we can go do our upgrade September 2016 we were both happy with our current phones and deals, however when you get told you can upgrade you naturally do. here is where the fun starts.

My girlfriend went and did her upgrade while I was at work. This contract is on my sisters name so had to get a letter from her stating she can do the upgrade. Once in store she chose a contract and phone she was happy with to stick by the next 2 years. Once the paper work come through she asked why is it R30 more than in the book you got, She was told "that is for new customers not upgrades"????????? is existing customer not priorty? Anyway she goes through with it the lady informs her that she will pay R650 at the end of October, My girlfriend asked what about her last few month on her contract, she was told "that falls away you get a prorata till the end of September and the new contract kicks in in full 1st October". She was also supposed to recieve R10000 online voucher which she did not recieve. End of October arrive for us to be given a bill for +- R1000 for her contract. Vodacom said it is for the old handset. As I said above had this been made clear by Vodacom or instore we were happy to wait. This issue was reported to Vodacom 18 October 2016, More to come of this at the end of this message.

Couple of days after my girlfirend upgraded her contract before we knew of all these hidden costs, I went and upgraded my phone. I am on a red advantage I was really unsure what phone to get as I was so happy with my old one. I went onto Vodacoms website where I had online chat with a lady who helped me out alot. She showed me the contract 1 above my where you get the extra gig of data for R1100 as supposed to R1000. I said great went straight away to a Vodacom store, different one to where my girlfriend went. I asked for exactly what the lady on the computer said. Then lady now helping me instore nodded said yes that perfect chose a phone the whole story again said I will recieve a prorata until October 1st from there will be charge R1100. Process went through I walked out happy as they said I get a free screen repair R10000 online voucher and I was paying R1100 for my contract with an extra gig. This is untill I got my bill. I am now charged +- R1500 for my contract. Looking into it I found they were charging me for my old phone, my new phone, my screen repair / insurance, R150 for an extra gig of data and I did not recieve my online voucher. This is not +-R1000 Girlfriend +-R1500 Mine = R2500 for 2 contract that should have cost me no more than R1700.

I called Vodacom on the 13th of October to report this problem, they said someone withh contact me within 48hours. The 18th of October I had heard nothing so I reported it on FaceBook I was told there to email ********** I did this and got contacted the next day. They told me it has to be given to the back office and they will contact me withing 15 working days. I was extremly frustrated by this as now they charge me the full amount for the month and then when it is sorted they will credit me. however the next day I was contacted by a second agent taking my issue on again and sending it to the back office again and was told again will be contacted within 15 working days. 15 working days takes us to the 8th of November guess what I have heard nothing. I called Vodacom again last wek Thursday 17 November, they informed me that the store should have called me which they never did I asked for a manager and told her my story for her to say if we need to reverse and change the contracts I will have to pay for it?????? Someone messed up /took a chance and I must pay. I do not think so. I asked her is there no customer service, If it was decided by Vodacoms back room that the stome must call me should they have not let me know? Anyway she said i will recieve a SMS and someone will contact me within 24hours. Its now Monday 21 November 96 hours later and I have heard nothing.

My claim number is S3-G9R3J-J4M4I.

I trust this issue will not get sorted out with a matter of urgency before I have to take this further.

Byron Bekker.
