Disgusted at Vodacom

To start off I want to say I am disgusted by the service or lack of it from Vodacom. And with the crime in South Africa, I would hope Vodacom would help curb the crime in South Africa by assisting the police in the fight against crime and ********. Now we are stuck in not know where we are with the case and knowing any action taken by Vodacom to assist us in the matter. My mothers credit record might be a mess by the lack of assistance from Vodacom. Plus the ******** is still running free and maybe even still committing more crimes.

On the 20th of August someone went to Vodacom festival mall with my mother **** ID and all necessary documents to open up a contract. The person bought a S7 Samsung. We were only notified by an insurance company as the ***** star asked the the phone even be insured as well.

The insurance company called my mother to confirme a debit order as the the person insuring the phone and my mother are not the same person. As my mother confirmed that she has not purchased the phone the insurance was declined.

Then on the 25th Vodacom made a debit order against my mothers account. My mother called the bank to tell them to reverse the transaction and the bank requested that she also go to Vodacom to tell them that she has not purchased the phone.

My mother called Vodacom to request them to stop the debit order as she has not purchased a phone. Vodacom request my mother to do an avidavid stating that she has not purchased a phone and take it to a store so they can send it to them.

We had the avidavid and went to the store where the phone was purchased to provide them with the avidavid and to request them to stop with the debit order and to clear my mothers name even on ITC.

To date I have called Vodacom festival mall twice. On Monday and today Tuesday and I have had no response. I do not have a reference number for the case or if even it is being investigated. All I know is that it was sent to head office as the store manager told me. We don't know if the debit order will go off at month end or if my mothers name and credit record will be clear.

I thought identity theft is a serious crime but Vodacom does not seem to think so. We do not get any updates or anything. I thought we are trying to resolve crime in this country but Vodacom is dragging its feet.
