Disgusted
My daughter spent many years as a Vodacom customer with an excellent account record. In 2011 my daughter pass away so my husband cancelled her phone, number etc & asked for settlement amount. We were shocked at the amount they requested as felt under the circumstances & her excellent payment record they would be more understanding as there where two girls who were now orphans, yet when we pointed out all this we were told our daughter had broken her contract with them so must pay in full, no sympathy or discounts. We paid feeling disgusted with the treatment we received. Three years ago my granddaughter moved to England & wanting to do the right thing again we app**** for settlement figure which we received & paid up again in full, the next month the monthly debit was paid to Vodacom but after this was pointed out to them they paid it back and as far as we were concerned it was finalized. Three years later we start getting phone calls from a debt collecting lawyers saying our granddaughter owed Vodacom R3,000, we told them Vodacom had been paid in full, they were persistent & kept phoning, but could or would not tell us what this charge was for or give us a name we could contact in Vodacom. This went on for a few months & eventually get an account out of them which was for some administration charge of just over a hundred Rands which we never ever received. They gave us the settlement amount so where did this charge come from. It seems to me that people who do the right thing & want to pay what they owe get penalised for the people who just walk away from their debts. We have sent the lawyers all the communication we have kept to show we have paid but they are still adamant we must pay . Disgusted Vodacom, Disgusted.
