Disgust at Vodacom’s Poor Service and Failure to Honor Black Friday Deal

I am writing to express my utter disappointment and disgust at the abysmal service I have experienced from Vodacom regarding the Black Friday internet deal I attempted to sign up for on 29 November 2024. My frustration began when I visited the Vodacom store in Knysna to secure the advertised deal, only to be turned away and told it was out of stock. I was advised to apply online, which I promptly did, submitting all required documentation. From that point, I was subjected to a drawn-out and disorganized process marked by repeated requests for additional documents and a complete lack of communication. Despite submitting all required information by 3 December 2024, I was left in limbo with no updates. When I followed up, I was informed at the Vodacom store that the deal had expired. Adding insult to injury, the call center informed me that my application had been declined due to a poor credit score—a claim that was both baseless and inaccurate. To resolve this, I had to spend hours of my time and money obtaining a credit report from TransUnion, which confirmed an excellent credit score of 791. When I presented this evidence to Vodacom, the narrative suddenly changed: my credit score was no longer an issue, but the router for the deal was out of stock. I was then pushed towards more expensive packages with no clear information about the alternatives. I am appalled by Vodacom’s inability to honor the Black Friday deal or provide a transparent and efficient process for its customers. The blatant lack of communication, the shifting reasons for delays, and the overall disorganization reflect poorly on Vodacom’s commitment to customer service. Advertising a deal and then making it nearly impossible to access is both misleading and unprofessional. I demand that Vodacom take responsibility for this debacle and honor the deal as per my original application. I also expect a formal apology and assurance that such incidents will not be repeated. Vodacom’s handling of this matter has been nothing short of disgraceful, and I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously to restore trust with your customers.
