Disgraceful Service
DISGUSTING SERVICE BY VODACOM If Vodacom would have to compete in a free and open market, they would either have closed years ago or changed to providing REAL service. On 30th May I contacted them via *** to terminate a contract that was due to expire on June 30. I also intended to upgrade an existing contract so that I would have enough data to cover my monthly needs. The consultant I spoke to made me an offer that appeared to be too good to be true. She proposed to expand to my existing contract to 100Gig a month at a reasonable fee to which I agreed. She also advised me that I should contact them before the end of June to officially terminate the contract that was about to expire. To the 100G contract another 50G were added as a bonus. You can imagine my annoyance when I wanted to make use of the now expanded contract but could not access the internet. I don’t want to go into all details into the many calls and broken promises suffice to say that 17 days later I still cannot access the 160G that are “theoretically” available and have paid for. Where does their service break down? 1) Every time you phone, you speak to a different consultant and have to explain the story from scratch. 2) Supervisors and/or managers are totally inaccessible. 3) It took them 3 days to establish that I need a different router. 4) They assured me that I could buy that router anywhere. 5) A clever technician advised that the router required for the specific package I was put on was only available from Vodacom. 6) He did not advice that the specific router needs to be constantly connected to electricity. 7) This makes it useless for someone who has to be on the net during load shedding and travels. 8) My dilemma started on a Monday, by the following Friday I was contacted by a consultant who assure me that things would be sorted out and that I should only contact her. 9) When doing so this morning, which is 10 days after said Friday, she was not available but would call me back. 10) True to form, no call back. Vodacom in its present form should not exists – THEY ARE A TOTAL DISGRACE.
