DISBELIEF

I have a simple request, I want my VAT number to be put onto my Vodacom invoice. My initial request was on the 3/6/2016 by email. they requested certain details from me, which I sent them. On Sunday 5th June I had a phone call from someone at Vodacom to say that they will only put my VAT number on my invoice if I have a company, and that it is ***** to put the number on an individual's invoice. In that case, Telkom, City of Joburg, Nashua, and many more are committing *****. What utter nonsense. I am a sole trader, Vat registered, and want to claim the input VAT on my Vodacom account, but require a legitimate VAT invoice. I have just had a conversation with a senior consultant at Vodacom, who confirmed that they will not put my number on the invoice, and told me that I could claim input without my number, and that I should go to SARS to confirm this. I told him that i have a bookkeeping practice, and deal with SARS on a daily basis, and that the law states that they have to put the number on a tax invoice. After expressing much anger, through frustration, at this consultant's, ignorance regarding the law, and his insistance that there isn't a need to put the number on the invoice, I put the phone down. Please help me....where to from here? Just confirmed with SARS that a supplier is obliged to give me a legitimate VAT invoice.
