Disappointing Service from Vodacom
On December 18, 2024, I took out a new contract with Vodacom for a device and a data SIM as a Christmas gift for my son. "Consultant 1" assisted me with the process. After signing the contract, I paid R101.00, and the device was handed to me, checked in front of me by the consultant.
Later that evening, I received a call from Vodacom stating that the "finance option" had been removed from my contract and that I must return the device. By then, I was already on holiday in the Northern Cape. I informed the consultant that I would address the issue upon my return.
Since then, I have been in constant back-and-forth communication with Vodacom representatives, including "Consultant 1" and "Consultant 2". I have provided all requested documents.. Despite complying with all their requests, the issue remains unresolved.
On January 15, 2025, "Consultant 2" informed me that my debit orders for October and November had not gone through, allegedly making me ineligible for this contract. This explanation contradicts previous assurances that everything was in order. My account is indeed up to date. Additionally, I received an unprofessional and threatening email from "Consultant 2", which was unacceptable.
I want to stress that "Consultant 1" handed me the device and SIM card after I signed the contract, without mentioning any issues or restrictions. This situation has caused significant distress, as the device was intended as my son's Christmas gift. Now, I am left with the emotional burden of taking the gift back, damaging the trust in my relationship with my son.
I have been a loyal Vodacom client for 20 years, and this level of service is deeply disappointing. Vodacom, please resolve this issue urgently.
