Disappointing service and breach of POPIA

08 May 2024 I was called by someone in vodacom, most likely the sales team offering my an upgrade on my SIM....the offer was for double my data and call minutes that i presently have but the monthly payment would now be R50 less than what I am currently paying. I asked the agent if I would be locked in for another 24 months and they said yes to which I confirmed i was not interested becuase that would mean I have to wait another 24 months before being able to upgrade my handset again. THe agent advised that this was a SIM upgrade only and would have no impact on my package upgrade because he advised that if i upgrade my handset then it will fall under a new package and override this SIM upgrade he was offering. I agreed to the SIM upgrade. Yesterday , 16 May 2024, I was browing handsets online on Vodacom's website and found a handset I wanted on special.... when I clicked on the button to check whether I was leagible for an upgrade I was prompted that my upgrade was no longer available becuase I had upgraded already. I called the call centre and the consultant I spoke to said she had to ask someone to help her with the cancellation of the SIM upgrade and would call me back but i received no call back . Please could I have the SIM upgrade from 08 May 2024 cancelled .... I dont the upgrade if it means i have to wait another 24 months before i upgrade my handset.

The other thing on this upgrade that upset me is that my details were updated on system, my Surname, my address was cofnirmed and my email address was updated but YET, they emailed the details of the upgrade to a Mr Phillip Human who is not the contract holder and it was addressed in my ****en name after i had JUST updated my details...... please advise WHY after confirming my details you send everything to someone else... ??? this is a breach of POPIA
